
Danya Rumore
Danya has been the Director of the Environmental Dispute Resolution (EDR) Program at the University of Utah’s Wallace Stegner Center since 2017, during which time she has taken the program to new heights. Under Danya’s leadership, EDR Program’s Collaboration Certificate Course (CCC) has trained hundreds of professionals in environmental and public policy conflict resolution.
With a Ph.D. in Environmental Planning and Policy from MIT, years of experience as a Research Professor at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, and as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of City and Metropolitan Planning, Danya describes herself as a “prac-ademic.” She is skilled at blending academia and real-world conflict resolution by developing innovative training programs, leading collaborative policy efforts, and empowering professionals and students to navigate complex conflicts with positivity and purpose.
In 2024 alone, Danya trained over 400 professionals, taught graduate-level negotiation courses, and partnered with the Utah League of Cities and Towns to build conflict resolution capacity among municipal officials.
Danya is committed to advancing conflict resolution in Utah and is working to create a culture of collaboration and conflict competence. She fosters peacemaking by helping shape ADR education, proficiency, and engagement.
