Evie Brinkerhoff
Evie represents what it means to be a peacekeeper! She graduated from Weber State with a bachelor’s in political science and BYU law school in 2007 and has been involved in the mediation community since then. She worked at Utah Dispute Resolution from 2008-2015 and during her tenure there implemented trainings including peer trainings, peer court, as well as teaching classes for refugees and youth. She is dependable and a great example of working hard to be inclusive making all in her circle feel welcome, she is a natural leader.
Evie joined the Utah Courts in 2014 as a Child Welfare Mediator and is currently the Lead Child Welfare Mediator. In addition to mediating hundreds of cases a year, Evie trains and leads a team of 8 in processing over 1,400 mediation referrals a year in the court’s Child Welfare Mediation Program.
Evie is also an integral part of the Court’s ADR Management Team, where she assists in administration of the Utah Court Roster and strategic planning for the court’s mediation programs.
She is a member of the UCCR Board of Trustees and has served as the Board President as well as Symposium Chair 3 times, including this year! She has served on the board of Mountain Mediation, the YWCA and works effortlessly and tirelessly to support this community.
Evie is always looking for ways to contribute and has a desire to help us all succeed. There were a couple of times we did not have brown bag speakers, she turned on a dime, stepped in and made a successful brown bag where participants received the value of her sincere efforts.
She is always the one to rise to the occasion and step in when there is a need, she is thoughtful in the way she contributes and is kind and humble in all she does. She goes about all her roles with grace and a willingness to serve, we can always count on her and we are all better because Evie is part of our community!
In addition to her service, she is a devoted fan of rugby, she is a stepmom to 4 beautiful daughters, two dogs and a cat – all of whom she adores! She loves to travel, and her passport will give us all envy!
